West Esplanade Foreshore Park – project update

Things are moving at West Esplanade, with the tender for the new pump track now released.

The West Esplanade Foreshore Park is one of two major recreation projects being delivered through Council’s new $2.1 million Community Recreation Fund, alongside the Kings Park Playground in Stanley.

So, what does releasing a tender actually mean?

Council has set the brief – including what the pump track needs to include and the different skill levels it needs to cater for. Experienced pump track companies are now invited to put forward their designs, showing us how they would bring that brief to life.

For West Esplanade, we’ve asked for a two-tier asphalt pump track suitable for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders, with a range of features, appropriate drainage and a social area for riders and spectators.

Companies will show us their proposed track layout, features and how riders will flow through the course. We’ll then assess the proposals to find the best design for the space and our community.

This is another step towards bringing the West Esplanade Foreshore Park Master Plan to life – a plan that was developed with our community in 2025.
