Stray Dogs/Dogs at Large
If a dog comes onto your property or is seen wandering:
- If the dog has an id tag and a phone number is displayed, give the number a call
- If the tag is a Circular Head Council tag call Council on 6452 4800 and provide the tag number to the officer on duty. This will assist in contacting the owner
- If there is no id, consider posting on social media to see if anyone knows the dog or the owner is looking for their lost dog:
NOTE: Dogs will be collected during business hours only. After-hours, dogs are only collected in emergency situations.
Important information
- Do not put yourself in any danger of being bitten or stopping traffic to contain a dog
- If a dog is wandering, take an image and post it on social media
- If a dog attacks after-hours and causes serious injury to a person or other animals, contact police immediately on 131 444 then Council on 6452 4800
