Federal Funding Secured for Woolnorth Road Bridge over the Welcome River
A new bridge is planned for Woolnorth Road, with funding confirmed by the Australian Government through the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program.
The $696,744 investment will support the design and construction of a new two-lane concrete bridge over the Welcome River, replacing the existing structure and improving safety and reliability for residents, freight operators, emergency services and visitors travelling along this important local route.
Mayor Gerard Blizzard “this upgrade to the Woolnorth Road Bridge is a vital project for our local area, improving safety and resilience on a key piece of infrastructure.
Support like this helps Council deliver the upgrades our communities need, while ensuring local roads can safely accommodate everyday traffic, agricultural vehicles and emergency services.”
