How to have a chat with someone about improving their Reading, Writing, Everyday Maths and Digital Skills

Have you ever noticed an adult you know lacking confidence with their reading, writing or everyday maths?

Are they anxious about filling in a form?

Do they often “leave their glasses at home” or hand over too much cash when paying for something?

Chances are they might be hiding their lack of reading, writing or maths skills.

You can help, and they can improve their literacy and numeracy skills.

A kind, respectful conversation can be the first step toward building their confidence and opening up new opportunities.
