Council Meetings
Ordinary Council meetings are usually held every third Thursday of the month, commencing at 6.00pm at the Council Chambers (33 Goldie Street, Smithton entry via ramp at the rear of the building). Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings.
Public Questions and Statements
A public question time is held during the meeting and anyone wishing to ask a question of Council is encouraged to attend. If you don’t have a question but you’d like to make a statement you can do that too. Please restrict questions/statements to less than two minutes.
If you would like to ask a question at the meeting, please complete the Questions to Council form. Printed forms will be available on the night but to avoid delay, consider printing and completing the form prior to the meeting: Questions to Council form. This form makes sure that Council can respond to your question with the correct contact details.
If you would like to ask a question but are unable to attend in person, you may provide your question in writing to the General Manager using the form above. This must be at least 7 days before an ordinary council meeting (i.e. the Wednesday of the week before the meeting).
COVID-19 Safety
Please ensure you social distance and practice good personal hygiene.
If you are unwell, please do not attend.
