Council Meetings
Ordinary Council meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of each month at 6pm in the Council Chambers, 33 Goldie Street, Smithton (entry via the ramp at the rear of the building).
Members of the public are welcome to attend.
Public Questions and Statements
Community members can ask up to two questions and/or make a statement during the public question time at each Ordinary Council meeting.
To help Council respond to your question and record your details correctly, please complete a Questions to Council form before the meeting. Printed forms are available on the night, but completing the form beforehand will help avoid delays.
If you can't attend the meeting, you can submit your question in writing to the General Manager using the same form. Written questions must be received at least seven days before the meeting (by the Wednesday of the previous week).
Please keep questions and statements to two minutes or less.
Meeting Recordings and Livestreams
Council meetings are audio recorded to assist with preparing accurate minutes, in accordance with the Local Government (Meeting Procedures) Regulations 2025.

Agendas and Minutes
Meeting Agendas are available for public inspection at the Council Office (33 Goldie Street, Smithton) on the Monday prior to the meeting or accessible from Council's website on the Saturday prior to the meeting.

Council Workshops
(Please note that workshop dates may change without notice to the public, depending on the availability of Councillors and visiting presenters.)
The Circular Head Council holds Council Workshops for the purpose of conducting in-depth discussion of selected topics and issues. Formal decisions are not made at workshops, but these sessions provide the time needed to explore important matters in detail.
Workshops are held First and Second Thursday of each month. Workshops are not open to the public.
