Smithton Child and Family Learning Centre

You may have heard the exciting news that a new Child and Family Learning Centre (CFLC) is coming to Smithton, which will support our families in the Circular Head region.

The new  CFLC will be a welcoming place, where you can get advice on health and family matters, education and training as well as wellbeing services from pregnancy to age 5.

Extensive community and stakeholder consultation, including the establishment of a Local Enabling Group, will be undertaken to inform the design of the new CFLC and the services it will provide to ensure it is tailor-made to serve local families.

The first phase of community and stakeholder consultation for the new Smithton CFLC has now commenced, and construction is expected to commence on the new CFLC in 2027.

The preferred site for the new CFLC is 33A King Street Smithton. This site has been selected due to its suitable size, central location in the Smithton township for families in the Circular Head region, and proximity to a proposed new health hub and other community services and facilities.

Your input into the services and families the new CFLC will provide is valuable, and you now have an opportunity to help shape its future.  Please take the time to complete the online survey at https://forms.office.com/r/zRbtWGvbXt

You are also invited to attend a community workshop to be held on Wednesday 20 May 2026 from 9.15am at the Circular Head Community and Recreation Centre. You can register to attend at https://forms.office.com/r/s95s0AZ26X
