Always Learning Legends
Our community is full of people who are learning, growing and trying new things every day.
Our Always Learning Legends (ALLs) are local people whose stories remind us that learning isn't about where you start — it's about where it can take you.
Some learned new skills. Some built confidence. Some discovered a new hobby, volunteered, connected with culture, improved their wellbeing or found new ways to support others. Their stories show that learning happens everywhere — at work, at home, in the community and throughout our lives.
More importantly, they remind us that everyone has a learning story. Sometimes we just need help recognising it.
This initiative is part of the Learn for Life project, supported by 26Ten and hosted by Circular Head Council. It reflects our region's recognition as one of only five UNESCO Learning Cities in Australia and one of five 26Ten Communities in Tasmania.
Together, we are working towards a community where people feel confident to:
- Have a go
- Ask for help when needed
- Learn in ways that suit them
- Recognise the value learning brings to their lives
- Celebrate their strengths and achievements
As you read these stories, we invite you to think about your own learning journey. What have you learned? What challenges have you overcome? What skills have you gained?
You might discover that you're already an Always Learning Legend too.
Interested in sharing your story?
We're always looking for new Always Learning Legends. If you've learned something new — whether big or small — we'd love to hear from you.
