Vegetation assessment and clearance works across Circular Head

TasNetworks will be assessing trees and vegetation near powerlines across parts of Circular Head over the coming weeks, with clearance works expected to begin in late November.

The work is part of TasNetworks' ongoing maintenance program to help keep our electricity network safe and reliable, particularly as we head into summer.

Where will the work take place?

The assessment area extends from the Port Latta Substation through to the Forest and Stanley townships, including:

  • Stanley
  • Wiltshire
  • North Forest and South Forest
  • Forest township (excluding Back Line Road west of the football oval)
  • Mengha
  • Black River
  • Mawbanna
  • Cowrie Point
  • Port Latta
  • Crayfish Creek
  • Hellyer
  • Detention River
  • Rocky Cape
  • Montumana

When will the work happen?

Vegetation assessments will take place over the coming weeks, followed by clearance works expected to begin in late November 2026.

Dates may change depending on weather, road access and other operational requirements.

Why is this work important?

Trees and branches growing too close to powerlines can cause power outages, bushfires and serious accidents.

Regular vegetation management helps reduce these risks and keeps electricity flowing safely to homes and businesses.

Spotted a tree too close to a powerline?

We all have a part to play in keeping our communities safe.

If you notice trees or branches touching powerlines, don't approach them. Report them to TasNetworks:
