Department of State Growth
The Department of State Growth actively pursues investment, facilitates major projects, supports business and industry to grow, and
ensures the Tasmanian Government is investing strategically in infrastructure.
The department also works closely with business and industry to address barriers to growth to provide a skilled workforce, develop Tasmania's cultural industries and ensure efficient cost effective transport and logistics systems.

Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and the Environment
The Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and the Environment (DPIPWE) provides technical advice and runs programs
on productivity and sustainability for a range of livestock and cropping industries. It works closely with producers, industry organisations and agribusiness companies.
The Department has published a number of documents relating to Tasmanian food, agriculture, soil and water resources and enterprise budgets which are available from their website. The Department also has responsibility for the licensing and management of wild fisheries and marine farming in Tasmania.
The Tasmanian Institute for Agricultural Research, a joint venture of the State Government and the University of Tasmania, undertakes research and development programs across a range of agricultural and horticultural industries.

Business Tasmania
Business Tasmania is a free and confidential service that supports people to start, run, and grow a business in Tasmania. The Business Tasmania team provide personalised assistance, information and connections to programs and services across the Department of State Growth and other government agencies.
The Business Tasmania team make it easier for the business community to talk to government and access support.
For those whose first language is not English, interpreting services are available in over 180 languages.

The Tasmanian Business Advice Service
The Tasmanian Business Advice Service is designed to support established businesses, with 19 or fewer Full Time Equivalent employees, that have held an Australian Business Number (ABN) for at least 12 months. You can access up to five hours of free business advice and support each financial year. They can help with topics such as:
- managing cashflow
- marketing
- risk management
- small business planning and small business strategy.
Clients can meet in person or online with a local advisor, or choose to meet any advisor online, regardless of their location. Advisors bring a wealth of small business experience and knowledge. They understand the local operating environment, customers and markets and they have strong connections in Tasmania’s business community.
For those that are thinking of starting a business, or who have held an ABN for less than 12 months, clients can access up to two hours of free, independent advice through the New Business Support Pilot program. They may help with topics such as determining business viability, financial forecasting and identifying new opportunities.

Austrade
Austrade helps Australians succeed in export and international business by providing advice, market intelligence and support to
Australian companies to reduce the time, cost and risk involved in selecting, entering and developing international markets. Austrade also provides advice and guidance on overseas investment and joint venture opportunities.
Austrade administers the Export Market Development Grants scheme which provides financial assistance to eligible businesses through partial reimbursement of the costs of specified export promotion activities.

Cradle Coast Authority
The Cradle Coast Authority (CCA) is a joint authority created to co-ordinate and drive economic development across the nine local government areas of North-West and Western Tasmania. These include Latrobe, Devonport City, Kentish, Central Coast, Burnie City, Waratah-Wynyard, West Coast, Circular Head and King Island Councils.
The Authority's primary role is the identification of economic development priorities and brokering of partnerships between the different levels of government, industry and community groups to address these priorities on a regional scale.
All regional development activities are funded through partnerships and funding agreements with other bodies.
