Learning for Life in Circular Head
Circular Head has a proud history of working together as a community to value education and training at every stage of life. To support this commitment, the Circular Head Education and Training Consultative Committee (CHETCC) was established in 1999.
CHETCC is a committee of Circular Head Council. It brings together representatives from local schools, training providers, businesses, industry and local government. By working in partnership, the committee helps create learning and training opportunities for people of all ages across our community.
We are proud to be a 26Ten Community, supported by 26Ten to help adults build the literacy and numeracy skills they need for everyday life and work. In a 26Ten Community, learning is encouraged, support is easy to find, and the benefits extend to individuals, families, workplaces and the wider region.
As a Learning City, we bring together local resources to promote lifelong learning for all - enhancing education, job readiness, digital access and community wellbeing.
Circular Head is one of four regions in Australia recognised as a Global Learning City. UNESCO defines a learning city as a place that:
- effectively mobilizes its resources in every sector to promote inclusive learning from basic to higher education;
- revitalizes learning in families and communities;
- facilitates learning for and in the workplace;
- extends the use of modern learning technologies;
- enhances quality and excellence in learning; and
- fosters a culture of learning throughout life.
