Environmental Stewardship Plan

Welcome to the Environmental Stewardship Plan Project

The Environmental Stewardship Plan (ESP) project is a vital initiative led by the Council's Department of Environment and Sustainability to provide strategic direction and a framework for environmental management and services in Circular Head.

What is Environmental Stewardship?

Environmental stewardship is the responsible and sustainable care of natural spaces and resources. It involves understanding, protecting and managing ecosystems, habitats and biodiversity to ensure their health and resilience. It entails respecting and enhancing the world-class environment of Circular Head, ensuring a safe, healthy and unique lifestyle.

What is an Environmental Stewardship Plan?

An Environmental Stewardship Plan (ESP) is a comprehensive roadmap that outlines Council’s and the community's collective vision and goals for environmental management. It identifies key environmental issues, sets priorities and proposes strategies for action.

Why an Environmental Stewardship Plan?

The ESP serves as a guiding document to help Council effectively manage Circular Head’s natural environment. By proactively addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable practices, Council can preserve the natural beauty for future generations to enjoy.
