Public Health Risk Activities

Public Health Risk Activities

Under the Public Health Act 1997 Circular Head Council is responsible for regulating activities that involve skin penetration such as:

  • Tattooing
  • Acupuncture
  • Ear and body piercing.

If you plan to operate one of the above public health risk activities, you will be required to register the premises where the activity is occurring. Any person performing skin penetration practices must have a licence to conduct a public health risk activity.  Each licence holder will be required to hold a training qualification or equivalent before a licence will be granted.

Please contact Councils Environmental Health Officer to discuss your requirements and responsibilities and to obtain an application form.
