Permit Authority

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Permit Authority. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and processing permits for building, plumbing, and demolition works, ensuring compliance with the Building Act 2016 and relevant legislation.  The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Building Act 2016, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. If you are not a permit authority, Council are willing to support the right candidate to achieve the qualification required for licensing.

The Permit Authority will support the animal control function during work hours by assisting with responsibilities under the Dog Control Act 2000, as required. You may also contribute to the annual fire abatement process.

You will need:

  • Current Driver’s License
  • Certificate recognised by CBOS to attain Permit Authority licence or the ability to obtain the qualification
  • Ability to demonstrate and/or address the competencies and skills of the position, as defined.
  • Experience and/or qualifications in Administration, Building, Planning, or other relevant areas.
  • Effectiveness to meet Council’s expectations for quality, effective service delivery, reliability, improvement and innovation

The package:

  • Starting rate of $70,038.80 as per enterprise agreement
