Council has made the decision to seek applications for the General Manager position.

The Circular Head Council at a special meeting on Monday 10 July 2017 resolved to seek applications for the position of General Manager in readiness for the expiration of the current appointment on the 31 December 2017.

Mayor Daryl Quilliam said the Council decided the time was right to test the market as the position had not been advertised for the past 12 years.

“The decision opens up the opportunity for both the current General Manager and others interested in leading community into the future,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“As elected members we have an enormous responsibility to our ratepayers to represent them and make the very best decisions for our community. These responsibilities demand strength and conviction.

“Councillors appreciate the hard work Tony Smart has been doing as General Manager during the past four years.”
