Waratah-Wynyard Council and Circular Head Council today announced they will be conducting separate surveys to help both organisations identify how effectively they communicate and provide for their communities.

“The surveys aim to anonymously and confidentially seek the views of a representative cross section of our communities, which will assist in gaining an understanding of the demand for, and satisfaction with, the current standards of service,” Mayor Walsh said.

“The surveys will be repeated every two years so that trends and changes in community expectations and demand can be identified.”

The surveys will be available to complete online via both Council websites and sent to a random selection of 1250 residents in both municipal areas.

Mayor Quilliam said the surveys were designed to ensure confidentiality, unbiased reporting and full transparency of the results.

“To achieve this, the process will be undertaken by an independent third party and please be assured that the results will be made publicly available,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“The results of the surveys will inform both Councils’ strategic planning processes where the public will have further opportunity to provide input and feedback to both organisations on their future strategic direction and objectives and in determining the range and standards of services provided.”

Both Mayors encouraged residents to complete the surveys and continue to work with both Councils for the benefit of the region.

“It is becoming increasingly important for both Councils to engage with our communities in our decision making processes so we can work with you in shaping and providing for the future,” Mayor Walsh said.

The survey is available online for Waratah-Wynyard residents at www.warwyn.tas.gov.au/yoursay or for Circular Head residents at www.circularhead.tas.gov.au/yoursay

Paper copies are available by request and can also be downloaded from both Council websites.

The survey will close on Friday 03 October 2014 at 5pm.
