Circular Head and Waratah-Wynyard General Manager Greg Winton today confirmed the person killed in the early hours of Saturday morning at Marrawah was a contractor to both Councils.

Simon Crisp was contracted by the company North West Animal Control to the Waratah-Wynyard and Circular Head Councils to facilitate animal control.

“Staff and Councillors have been offered counselling and Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam has been in contact with Simon’s family and partner to offer his condolences and support,” Mr Winton said.

“Mr Crisp has had previous employment with Circular Head Council and was a long term resident of the area.”

Mr Winton said it would be inappropriate for Council to comment further considering the ongoing investigation by Tasmania Police.
