File Reference No: Aurora Clearing the Way

Aurora Energy will be in the Circular Head Area from now until June 2007

MEDIA RELEASE

Aurora Energy will be in the Circular Head Area from now until June 2007.

Aurora have advised they will be clearing vegetation within close proximity to power lines to ensure supply reliability for the Circular Head area, to ensure safety and to reduce the risk of fire hazards.

There are five Aurora feeder lines which originate from the Smithton substation - Aurora will be working on three of these lines, which are -

Line 1 - supplying Classic Foods at Edith Creek

Line 2 - supplying Montagu to Woolnorth

Line 3 - supplying the town of Smithton including McCains

There are a further two Aurora feeder lines from Port Latta which will also be addressed: -

Line 4 - supplying Port Latta to Stanley

Line 5 - supplying Mawbanna, Montumana and to the eastern side of Sisters Hill

Aurora have advised these works are usually carried out on a twenty four month cycle.

You may be approached by an Aurora Contractor regarding vegetation on your block that may be a potential hazard to these power lines. If so, they will need to discuss this with you and organise authorisation and suitable access times to carry out clearing of the vegetation.

"Circular Head Council and Aurora wish to thank the community for their on going co-operation whilst this work is carried out - it is appreciated."
