Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam today said the Circular Head War Memorial Pool was being closed until further notice.

“Due to a problem with the heating system, the pool’s temperature is down to 22 degrees, which is not acceptable for swimming,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“Council officers are working on a temporary and longer term solution to get the pool back up to an acceptable temperature as soon as possible.”

Mayor Quilliam said a working group had already been established to consider what temporary upgrades could be made to the pool.

“Council has made a commitment to keep the current pool operational as long as possible following the decision to postpone a new pool until funding becomes available,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“Council will keep residents updated and will advise when the pool is reopen.”
