Circular Head Acting General Manager Tony Smart today announced that the tender for an access ramp at Godfrey’s Beach, Stanley, had been awarded to Stronach Constructions.

"Council is pleased to announce that Stronach Constructions have been successful in its tender to build the access ramp at Godfrey’s Beach, Stanley," Mr Smart said.

"Not only was this the most affordable option for Council, but Stronach also comes with experience in this field as well as the benefit of local knowledge."

Mr Smart said the tender included:

• Site establishment including erection of a temporary security fence;
• Demolition of the existing access ramp and associated infrastructure as required; and
• Construction of new access ramp including all incidental works.

"Considering Godfrey’s Beach was last year named as the state’s winner of the Clean Beach Award by Keep Australia Beautiful Tasmania it is very pleasing to see access to this area improved," Mr Smart said.

Work is anticipated to start in the next few months and will be completed by the end of June (weather permitting).
