Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam has expressed his frustration at about $2000 of damage to various facilities in Stanley earlier this month.

“Sometime between Friday morning on the 5th and Saturday the 6th of April a number of Council facilities in Stanley have been plastered with graffiti,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“The facilities include the public toilets at King Park, Tatlows Beach and the Stanley Town Hall.”

Mayor Quilliam said a barbecue at Kings Park had also been sprayed with graffiti and a nylon strap on a baby change table at the Stanley Town Hall public toilets had been cut and possibly burnt.

“What is most disappointing is that these are public facilities that have been treated with such disrespect,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“The side effect is not only the cost incurred to rectify the damage, but also the impact it has on others in the community.”

Mayor Quilliam asked anyone noticing or who had noticed suspicious behaviour at any Council facility to contact Council on 6452 4800 and Police on 13 1444.
