Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam said Council staff were rolling up their sleeves in preparation for the annual Twilight on the Duck celebrations as part of Australia Day.

“Everything from the Australia Day Awards to food and entertainment is all coming together in readiness for another great event,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“While the duck pedal won’t be happening this year, don’t worry there will still be a number of activities suitable for all ages.”

Mayor Quilliam welcomed the support of Woolnorth Holdings, which has this year come on as the major sponsor with $5000 towards the event.

The Twilight on the Duck Festival will include the Duck Dash, bands, the Duck Race, games, mini jeeps, jumping castles, displays and of course the popular Graze the Region food area.

“Every year this event just keeps getting better and better, so it will be great to join with the Circular Head community again on January 26 and celebrate what a great country we live in,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“With the new addition of Seven Sheds Brewery and others to the Graze the Region food area, there will be something for all tastes.”

Twilight on the Duck starts at 3pm on the western foreshore of the Duck River in Smithton culminating in the Fireworks Display about 9.30pm.

“Of course there is also the Twilight on the Duck Cocktail Party, which this year will be held on Thursday 24 January at Tall Timbers from 6.30pm,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“Make sure you get in quick with your RSVP by Monday 21 January by phoning Judy King on 6452 1537 or Sue Popowski on 6452 2092.”
