Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam today wished Council staff from both Circular Head Council and Waratah-Wynyard Council well on their way to represent Tasmania at the Australasian LGMA Management Challenge finals on Friday.

“The team, appropriately called the WARHEADS, will be heading to Melbourne on Thursday after taking out the state titles in Launceston in March,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“The team’s collaborative and inclusive approach to everything thrown at them at the challenge will no doubt put them at an advantage in the finals.”

Team members consisted of, from Waratah-Wynyard, Michelle Vasi, Brendon Hicks and Murray Jamieson and from Circular Head, Christine Tuson, Heather Thompson and James Brewer.

Waratah-Wynyard Mayor Robby Walsh agreed.

“No doubt the team’s strength lies in the connections made in the resource sharing arrangement between both Councils,” Mayor Walsh said.

“I congratulate the WARHEADS on their success so far and will be barracking for them to take out the Australasian title.”

Both Mayor Quilliam and Mayor Walsh also thanked Waratah-Wynyard Executive Manager of Organisational and Community Development, Tracey Bradley, for mentoring the team during the challenge.
