Melbourne graffiti artist AJ Dash will be bringing his artistic flair to bring colour to the new Smithton Skate Park facility.

Circular Head Youth and Community Officer Alysha House said AJ will be working with young people from the area to help decorate the new skate ramp and bowl launched last week.

The Circular Head Aboriginal Corporation has contributed $3000 towards the project, which will go from 10am this Saturday until Tuesday next week.

"AJ is an accomplished artist who is bringing a lot of experience and talent to Circular Head and it will be fantastic to see him working with young people from our area," Ms House said.

"AJ has been painting since 1988 and has travelled all through South Korea, Europe, New York and London."

Ms House said AJ had held a number of workshops with several community groups.

"AJ is a great painter and has a special knack of working with young people," she said.

"The hope is that the finished piece will not only brighten up the area, but also build the participants' self esteem and hopefully help to reduce vandalism."

The Circular Head Council is calling for interested participants to register via the Circular Head Youth Leaders (CHYL) Facebook page or by contacting Alysha House at the Council on 6452 4803.
