Circular Head General Manager Greg Winton today announced that the Draft Smithton Leisure and Recreation Development Plan will be released for public comment on Friday.

"Following Council's approval of the Draft Smithton Leisure and Recreation Development Plan last week, I am looking forward to getting the community's feedback on the report's key recommendations," he said.

"There are a number of proposals in the report, including the possibility of a new aquatic centre, which would be a very exciting development for the town."

The plan has been developed following community consultation and looked at a number of areas including the Smithton Indoor Sports Centre, Anzac Park, the Smithton Recreation Ground, including the Community Recreation Centre and the Circular Head War Memorial Swimming Pool.

The Draft Smithton Leisure and Recreation Development Plan will be open for public comment for four weeks and will close on Friday, November 25. Copies of the plan will be available at Council's office in Smithton or via Council's website at www.circularhead.tas.gov.au

Submissions are to be made in writing to the Circular Head Council's Strategic Projects Office, PO Box 348, Smithton, Tasmania 7330
