Circular Head Council will host a community meeting with residents in the Hellyer area on Wednesday, 6 May, 2009.

The meeting is to discuss providing a way forward in implementing solutions to inappropriate vehicle use in the Hellyer Beach Area.

Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam said Council was responding to the concerns raised by residents of Hellyer Beach about inappropriate road use, hooning and the riding of unregistered off-road motorbikes on the Bass Highway and Streets in Hellyer Beach area.

"I encourage all residents of Hellyer Beach or other interested parties to attend the on-site meeting" Mayor Quilliam said.

As well as Circular Head Councillors and Officers representatives of Tasmania Police, DIER, Parks & Wildlife and Forestry Tasmania have been invited to hear the views of those attending in a bid to find a satisfying solution to this matter.

The meeting will be held at 6.00 pm at the Hellyer Fire Station, 2 Melaleuca Drive, Hellyer.
