2009/2010 Community Small Grants Scheme - Round Two

Applications are invited from interested people and community groups for Round Two of the Community Small Grants Scheme for the 2009/2010 financial year.

Council will consider all applications and determine successful requests in line with budgeting allocations.

The scheme comprises four categories:

  • Minor Works
  • Culture and Events
  • Health and Well Being
  • Sport and Recreation

Applications will be assessed on their merits. While the following will form the basis for assessment, projects will not necessarily have to meet all the criteria to be successful:

  • Demonstrate a considerable benefit to the community
  • Establish new and innovative community projects or programs
  • Demonstrate co-ordination with other groups in the community
  • Show evidence of community support
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage the project through resource allocation, effective planning, clear goals and evaluation processes
  • Address local issues by attempting to meet a community need or short coming

Applications close on 20 November 2009 and applicants will be advised of the outcome once Council has considered and determined the successful applications.

Application forms are available from the Council Office at 33 Goldie Street, Smithton or here on Council's website.

Enquiries in relation to Community Small Grants Scheme are to be directed to Community Programs Officer, Deb Mainwaring on 6452 4800.
