Relay Push Ups for a Healthy Circular Head

16 March 2012

Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam has today put out a call to the Circular Head community to roll up their sleeves for a healthy lifestyle.

"With only three weeks of our Kilos for the Community program left I would like the Circular Head community to come together and get healthy," Mayor Quilliam said.

Mayor Quilliam said starting Monday all Kilos for the Community activities would be free for a week to participants as long as they said the code words "Kilos for the Community".

"This is a great opportunity to help you realise your individual goals before the end of the program," Mayor Quilliam said.

The program will culminate with a Relay Push Ups for a Healthy Circular Head event at the Community and Recreation Centre in Smithton where as many people are welcome to come and see how many push ups can be done in an hour. The event will be held on Sunday, April 1, from 3-4pm.

Mayor Quilliam said following this event there would be two weigh-ins on April 4 between 5pm and 7pm and on April 5 between 12pm and 1pm.

"I encourage as many people as possible to take part in the weigh-in," Mayor Quilliam said.

"Also I would like to remind everyone to keep up with their SMART goals - that's Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely - not only over the next three weeks, but also into the future because Kilos for the Community is all about getting refocussed, reassessing your goals and ultimately it's all about you, so let's keep motivated."
