Landscape Development Plan Open for Ideas

Landscape Development Plan Open for Ideas

3 March 2014

Circular Head Mayor Daryl Quilliam said Council was calling on the public’s input into 17 selected key sites in Smithton as priority locations for improvements.

“Council has developed concept ideas for tree planting, flower beds and other improvements to improve the landscape and amenity at these sites,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“These ideas will hopefully get people thinking about further ideas to work on the appearance and character of Smithton.”

Mayor Quilliam said the community was invited to call into the Circular Head Hall of Fame at the Circular Head Community and Recreation Centre on Tuesday 11 March 2014 to view the concept ideas and discuss possible improvements.

“Mary-Ann Edwards and John Bedford, of Council’s Strategic Projects Office, will be at the display from 3pm to 7pm to help explain the initial concepts and discuss any other ideas for the 17 sites,” Mayor Quilliam said.

“As ideas are developed it is intended that they form a Landscape Development Plan for Smithton, which will be gradually implemented as funds become available.”

Mayor Quilliam said Council encouraged any interested members of the community to attend the information session and provide ideas.

Further enquiries in relation to the development of the Smithton Landscape Development Plan can be made by contacting Mary-Ann Edwards or John Bedford at the Strategic Projects Office on 6452 4880.
