Aged Care

Emmerton ParkEmmerton Park Incorporated was established in 1966 as a not-for-profit organisation with a voluntary Board. In March 2008 the organisation celebrated the opening of its new 66-bed residential aged care facility which incorporates a secure dementia unit.

The new hostel, which replaces a 33-bed aged care hostel and separate 22-bed nursing home, offers residents modern, well-appointed individual rooms with ensuites, along with facilities such as a chapel, hairdressing salon, open courtyards and landscaped gardens.

Architecturally, the building has been designed so that it can extend to 80-plus beds in future years, allowing for the anticipated growth in Circular Head's elderly population.

The new hostel cost $8.5 million. Funding contributions included $2.5 million from the Commonwealth government, $1.4 million from Circular Head Council and $1 million from the State government. The Circular Head community itself raised more than $530,000 for the new facility in just over 12 months.

Emmerton Park Inc. delivers care to over 120 senior residents of Circular Head each week.
