Kings Park Development - Stanley

10 July 2005

Circular Head Council today announced additional facilities at Kings Park, the most popular beach picnic location in Stanley.

The project will include a stone curved wall with wooden seating installed to provide shelter for park patrons.

Two showers will be incorporated within the curved wall for swimmers convenience.

General Manager, Greg Winton said "The facilities have been designed to be functional whilst contributing to the visual cohesion of the site by utilising local materials.? The project has recently commenced with completion anticipated by the end of August."

Mr Kim Clark from Bentwood Designs has been commissioned to install the structures.

"The Council is grateful for the cash contribution from the Stanley Sailing Club, without which the project would not have proceeded" indicated Mr Winton.

Mr Winton also confirmed that additional facility improvements to Kings Park are part of Council's 2005/2006 budget.
