Following a sewer rate review at the Council Workshop of Thursday 5 June, Council has determined to offer a remission of 30% to residential property owners' whose sewer rate increased by more than 4% between the 2006/07 and 2007/08 financial years. The remission is in response to property revaluations conducted in 2006/07.

The remission will only be applied to the cost difference between the two years and will take effect in the 2008/09 financial year. Affected properties will have the one-off sewer rate remission credited directly to their rates account. No action is required by property owners.
