Parts of the Circular Head municipality will be able to access SBS for the first time, and regular viewers will receive improved reception when the television network's two new analogue transmitters go live this week.

The Council, will be replacing dysfunctional water valves in Stanley on Saturday April 29 2006. The works involve the installation of new water valves at five separate locations.

Greenham Tasmania operate an Abattoir in Smithton, employing some 120 people. The operations consume almost 15% of the water supplied by Council, and represents 10-15% of the total loading on the Smithton sewage treatment plant.

I would like to acknowledge the wonderful support of the Circular Head community, the Council, the State Government and Minister Bryan Green in ensuring that the grazing lease on Hunter Island is retained. After two years of struggle and as a result of an exhaustive selection process it was also gratifying to see local farmers Tony and Hugh Maguire and their families, have the opportunity to return to the Island.

Preliminary works have begun on a project to upgrade one of North-West Tasmania's major regional transport routes - the Irishtown Road.

Council has experienced higher levels of chlorination at the swimming pool during Saturday and Monday of this week at which the pool was closed to the Public to allow the treatment process to lower the levels of chlorine.
